One of the biggest “shocks” to any new photographer wanting to go full time is discovering just how little time is spent shooting (less than 15% according to some surveys) compared to other aspects of the business. You can actually check out the statistics and read more about “the secret life of a wedding photographer”...
Wani, your words are so true. Sometimes it’s easy to think that everyone is online, but it gets very crowded and noisy, so that beautiful brochure is the way to go….especially here in Nigeria where your network and networking is so key. The brochure looks great. Simple and elegant but descriptive.
Aww thanks for checking it out Feyisayo – I definitely appreciate it. Ooh and spread the word 😀
Pretty brochures, and so true about that 15%!
Thanks Autumn – isn’t it though?!? :-/
These are beautiful!
Aww, thanks Whitney 🙂
Great job Wani 🙂 Beautiful!
Thanks so much for sharing Wani. It’s soooo easy to think wedding photography starts and ends at taking beautiful pictures! I’ve thought of incorporating folios, flier and brochures into my business. I guess I have to start already.
You’re most welcome Gazmadu. It’s a little difficult as I haven’t found anyone locally who can produce the quality I need but I’m sure we’ll get there. A brochure is a great idea and gives potential clients something to share. Good luck 🙂
Hi wani, I am just about to start my own photography business any advice on the dos and don’ts. Thanks
Ok – so if you are a wedding photographer in Nigeria and you have never heard of Jide Alakija, then I suggest you go google him right now…no seriously, stop reading and go google, I’ll wait. 🙂 All joking aside, in the past couple of years, I am yet to have a conversation with either...
Jide is an amazing talent…..mostly, he is an awesome story teller. Thanks for sharing this.
Wani I commend you. I feel your passion and respect in this write up, in honor of someone I consider my mentor. Jide Alakija has been a great influence in my growth. Its usually no longer than 10 to 15 minutes I get to be with him and listen to him. Once a year but its been worth it. I have a lot of respect for this young and inspiring man. Have fun at the workshop. Thank you for this article..

Hey you Happy Wednesday. It’s my second favourite day of the week because I can begin the countdown to the weekend (yay!). Of course being a wedding photographer in Nigeria now means that I work on Saturdays but the great thing about being passionate and loving what you do is that it never feels like...
I expected to see photo albums, but CDs and jump drives too? Serious packaging! The colors are the same as the theme colors for your blog and website. Nice!
Aaw – thanks for noticing Sharon. Trying to create a cohesive feel and experience for my clients cause they are so awesome. Thanks dor stopping by – definitely appreciate it.
🙂
Love the packaging… Very Classy…..
