So I have to confess that I was a little worried about shooting this wedding. It's been a couple of years since I've booked a couple sight unseen, as I usually like to meet (or Skype) at least once to make sure we are a suitable match for each other. Simi and Kola booked me after seeing some of my wedding work on instagram, while I was still on maternity leave, so I didn't actually get to meet them until a couple of days before the traditional wedding. However, once I met them, all my fears dissipated as it turned out they are my kind of people - easy going with no unnecessary drama. I keep saying I've been blessed with lovely couples this year and these two are right up there. Kola is a laid-back fella and I seriously don't think I've ever shot a groom who laughed as much and as wholeheartedly as he did at the wedding - a real joy to shoot - and as for Simi, I'm pretty much appointing myself her one and only photographer henceforth as she is my bride crush for 2014 joining the likes of Nneka and Fran from previous years. 😉 These are brides who have given me the time, space and trust to create some beautiful work that are some of my favourite pieces in my portfolio to date. In the morning, we knocked out Simi's portrait pictures in less than 15 minutes and I had a tonne of great images to choose from and she did it all over again in the evening when she changed outfits. We were in a tiny room with a tonne of spectators and had less than 10 minutes to get a couple of images and Simi and Kola totally knocked it out of the park - so thank you so much Simi and Kola for being such great sports. It was a real pleasure working with you both. 🙂
This awesome duo had their traditional wedding at the ever popular KFA Events Centre in Lekki and the event was co-ordinated by the proficient Yinka of Magna Events. It was a day full of emotional highlights, which is just how I like my weddings.
Thanks as always to my partner in crime and second shooter, Mr Deji Atte of Deji Atte Photography.
Do enjoy the images and check back in for the white wedding pictures coming later this week. 🙂
p.s: I book a limited number of weddings each year and currently have some availability in 2015, so if you are looking for wedding photography that will let you relive your day over and over again, then get in touch right here as I would love to find out more about you and your special day.

ah! love so much about this - the way you lit it, the traditions, the JOY!!! i'm cracking up at the shot of both of them on their cell phones, though! so impressive that you got such great images in such short amounts of time - well done! and i may just be borrowing your idea of bride crushes - what a great description: brides who give you the "time, space and trust" to do your thing. so good to have bride crushes:)
Amen to the bride crush - if only all brides were like that - hee hee. A wonderful couple to work with! Thanks so much for stopping by Sarah 🙂
