IJP Bespoke Events was formed by Juyin Demuren in 2009 to meet the event planning needs of the most tasteful and demanding clientele. Juyin develops each event as an architect or designer would design a signature space. She introduces the highest principles of art and design with exact attention to every detail to create an environment that exists for a few magnificent moments. Her travels throughout the world bring the latest inspirations, textures, new materials and event architecture to IJP's events.
I first met Juyin at a wedding she coordinated and designed a few years back and I was very impressed. So she was the first person who sprung to mind when I was looking for a partner for my very first styled shoot. Not only is she an amazing event planner but she creates beautiful, unique decor and has a great eye for detail. So without further ado, here's Juyin:

There are so many reasons to hire a wedding consultant, but if you could only give one to a bride & groom, what would it be? A consultant will help even the most organised couple gain quicker knowledgeable access to vendor options in whatever city/country that consultant is based/or is asked to plan their event in. A good wedding consultant's job is to help steer the ship that is the wedding, whilst allowing the couple to remain the captains of the entire enterprise. Their job as a consultant is to create ways to actualise their clients' dreams. So if you want your dreams actualised, get the right tools in place to make that happen and that includes a good wedding consultant.
How long have you been in the wedding business? I have been in the industry for 10 years, and I have been an event designer and event planner for 4.5 years.
Which came first the decor / event design or wedding planning and which do you prefer? I love event design. It is my true passion, but for the decor to work I feel that the form and function have to be perfect, so a beautifully designed but poorly organised event is a waste of a beautiful space. So although decor came first, planning is key to making my 1st love perfect.
What is the top quality you possess that makes you uniquely suited to do both wedding consulting and event design? My team and I's work ethic. We believe in details and its role in the big picture, so no detail is too small to fuss over. I have fussed over something as little as how the napkin fold must compliment the type of menu cards to be used.
What is your favorite part of the wedding planning process? Many things inform that. Every part of the process feeds into the next. So I could say its the journey that I love the most, from the start to the end. Being able to do what we love to do well.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day? The part that stands out for me is the couples' 1st dance, many parts have significance, some speak to the reason that the event is being held, but this is the part that is just for the couple, and our couples today own their moment! I love it!
Did you plan your own wedding? Anything you would do differently now you are in the "biz"? No I didn't, and yes of course!! However I got married 10 years ago, so with experience I now know more.
