When Violet first contacted me a few months ago, our initial consultation was every photographer's dream. She completely understood the significance of the wedding pictures as the only tangible evidence of an amazing wedding day (ok in addition to the wedding video, ring and a husband ;-)) and the importance of having a beautiful wedding album, which would become a family heirloom to pass down from generation to generation. So I was definitely excited when she and Paul booked me for their white wedding in Ikeja. Violet also mentioned that although she was the youngest of 7 children, her wedding would be the first large, formal wedding in the family - so it was definitely important to capture every moment for posterity. After our pre wedding shoot in Alausa, I saw how easy Paul and Violet were to work with, which made me even more excited about their big day.
So, Violet and Paul's dads are best friends and it turns out that Violet's dad actually played matchmaker by introducing Paul's mum to his best friend, which is pretty cool. Paul and Violet didn't actually get to know each other until Violet moved to the US to study a couple of years back but I guess fate has its way of working these things out; one thing led to another and the rest as they say is history. The wedding day was beautiful with the ceremony held at St Agnes Catholic Church in Maryland and then the reception at Etal Hotels and Halls in Ikeja. A big thank you to my pal and second shooter Deji Atte of Deji A Photography who did a great job and is always so much fun to shoot with.
Violet and Paul, thank you so much for inviting us to document your love story and share your day - a love like yours is truly genuine and will last forever. I know you will have an amazing life together. xxx
p.s: I have to say I am particularly proud of this creative session, we had only 15 minutes to come up with something and everyone totally rocked it. Some of my favourite images to date - I just love the romance of it all. Great job guys. 🙂
