So it turns out 2nd child syndrome is a real thing, by the time my first son was 1, he had had 2 super cute and adorable photoshoots and we also had a shoot on every birthday to mark how quickly he was changing and growing. For son no. 2, I barely got my act together to get his first shoot done on his first birthday and then it took me another 6 months to get round to editing and showing the images - I know, I know, bad mummy! I decided to try something new for his birthday and went with a studio background with props for his very own cakesmash. Umm, the cakesmash itself was a little bit of a disaster (who knew toddlers were scared of giant cupcakes?!? :-D) but he loved the second part of the shoot, which was the splish splash. Son no. 2 is a little less amenable to picture taking so this may be the last shoot I ever do with him - lol. Just kidding, I don't give up so easy and there is no escape from mama's camera - so he'll become an expert model in no time. 🙂

Kids seem to grow up way too quickly these days and I'm a true believer in documenting every phase of life, so I'm always glad I do the shoots and I'm slowly building a collection of images on the wall that my family and I cherish now and my boys and their respective families will cherish in decades to come. The love of my life, smile on my face and laughter in my heart turned 2 a couple of weeks ago and while I am quickly discovering that the terrible twos are in fact not a myth (Lord give me strength!!!), I thank God every day for this amazing little person in my life. So as is (fast) becoming tradition, I grabbed the little man for a mini shoot. He is truly a photographer's kid now. Enjoy. 🙂

The O Maternity and Family Photoshoot

Well this initially started off as a maternity session with Mrs O. but when the family saw how much fun she was having, they decided they wanted to join in as well. It was an early morning session (like birds singing early morning) but you'd never tell the way Mrs O. worked the camera. Absolutely gorgeous mama who I'm glad to say now has an equally gorgeous little girl. Congratulations and can't wait to get my hands on the little lady for her own photoshoot - enjoy. 🙂

Baby Photoshoot In Akure

I just realised I haven't posted any pictures of my little sunshine in quite a while, so I dug these up from an impromptu shoot we did while visiting family in Akure. I love these pictures because they capture him perfectly in this phase of life - he wasn't a particularly smiley baby - always very serious like he was figuring out the answer to life's greatest problem. He has changed a lot in the 12+ months since then though, so we are due another shoot real soon. In the meantime, you can check out some of my boo-boo's other pictures here and here. Personal || Eli is ONE!

So for the inaugural post on my brand new blogsite (hear hear!), what better way to start than to wish the love of my life a very Happy Birthday. My very own Eli turned 1 today and I can't believe how the time has flown. It feels like just yesterday, I was bringing him home from the hospital after a rather traumatic birth, sleeping on the floor by his moses basket because I wanted to be close to him, trying to figure out his eating and feeding schedule and waiting for my serious little man to crack his first smile. He has enriched my life so much just by being in it and there isn't a day that goes past that I don't thank God for my beautiful beautiful son. So happy birthday Eli and I'm looking forward to many many many more.

p.s: I thought I would share some recent pictures of Eli from his first beach trip. Loved the sand that he spent half the time rolling around in it and then eating it (yum!). Have a fab Sunday xxx
